It needs time and effort to build credibility with your visitors by creating value content, providing regular updates, and all different means of interactivity (feedbacks, comments, contact info etc.). I’ve read a lot about advertising on websites / blogs, but I really think that the best way is to build a strong visitor basis, gather their email addresses, so you can communicate with them whenever you have something important to say. After you reach a critical mass, you can create value added, pay content (an ebook, or any other product), and advertise and sell it using the email database you built over time.
